  enjoyed the tour this morning led by by a very informative former mayor(twice) and current town and district councillor sue jones.

  here we have the mace in the mayor's parlour. the mace is silver gilt and dates back to 1676.
  commemorates the return of charles the second out of exile.
  
  

  

  
  
  this stunning piece is the dover jewel, high carat gold coverered
  in jewels made in 1898, weighs a bit too.
  
  

  

  
  
  the table her contains the mayor's chain at the top and the deputy mayor's underneath.

  Nice to see these photos Howard, had a tour around myself but a few years back now. I thought for one moment that our lovely Mayor Ronnie had been banished to the naughty corner
