I want to be positive but we also have to be practical.
Flower beds can look good all year round if planted with lavender and winter flowering shrubs like Vibernum, small sculptures could also make the area more attractive. Water features look nice until the vandals add their much loved bubbles as happened with the much missed fountain.
The Market Square should return to being the main meeting point all year round, possibly with a cafe culture atmosphere with plenty of seating for all ages and maybe something to keep younger children entertained.
