  The cry goes up for a fishmonger in town, in fact in any town, but the demand is more for prepared fish with chips bought in. When I lived in Ilford population around 300, 000 there was one tiny shop that sold fresh fish and practically all the customers were elderly Jews and when they died out so did the shop. With regard to bakers there is little profit to be made from loaves and rolls hence Greggs not selling them anymore but concentrating on baked products.
