    Just the thought calls to mind a line from a Léo Ferré song: 'A la gallerie j’farfouille dans les rayons d’la mort', which roughly translates as 'In the pound shops I rummage in the aisles of death.' (Avec le temps isn't all about the effects of consumer capitalism on the individual but about much happier things, like falling out of love.)
