Going off at a slight tangent here there are buildings locally that have been derelict for so long that it is clear that prospective retailers will never take them on. Why do the owners not convert them into flats that would easily because of the closeness of the High Speed train link and all local amenities?

The one sold at auction was subject to a planning permission denied because of the flats being too small but no doubt the next application will be more acceptable. Should the owner take on board the idea that the ground floor be laid out for retail we are back where his holiness the Mayor was rooting for in the first place.
