  With respect Jan, and perhaps you are the exception to the rule, 'people' don't work like that whatever they say.
  
  We all tell the nice survey woman that we'd happily pay an extra 1% on income tax for whatever but in the privacy of the voter's booth we never vote for a party which admits it's going to put up tax (unless it only affects other people like bankers, footballers or the 'rich' in general).
