  Alexander I can understand your incredulity. There is no real information to be gained from these headline numbers. One needs a full understanding of the methodology used in the collection of the data, the sample profiles and the assumptions programmed into the model in order to get a feel for the reasonableness of the model's output. If methodologies are insufficiently rigorous, it's just "garbage in, garbage out".
  
  Likewise, even if we can fully validate the model's output, it requires at least degree level understanding of both statistics and micro-economics to draw any meaningful conclusions from the figures.
  
  Then of course, there is the political and professional agenda of the report's authors and sponsors to be considered.....
