In the 109-year history of the Tour de France, a Brit has never won it. Today's last stage from Rambouillet to the Champs-Élysées sees two Brits start with a commanding lead. Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome are currently more than six and three minutes respectively ahead of the third placed rider, an Italian.
There is so little hope of a Frenchman coming in the top six that the French popular press have even started rooting for the two Brits, as even the French love a bit of sporting history in the making.
Our two boys have dominated the later stages of the race so comprehensively that some are calling this year's Tour the Promenade des Anglais.
The final stage starts today at 1pm, due to finish around 4.20. Should be worth a watch.
If Bradley Wiggins does win, he's almost guaranteed a knighthood.

There is an unwritten rule that the leader going into the last day is not challenged, so fair to say Bradley has already won it, that is probably why the coverage today is on ITV1 and not ITV4 as it has been for the rest of the tour.

It ranks up there along with Roger Bannister's four minute mile, the 1966 world cup and Murray winning Wimbledon next year, as one of the greatest British sporting achievements of all time.

Have followed the Tour all the way through and have to say, what a mark of achivement it was to have two riders first and second was amazing, and a winner in Paris on the Champs-Elysees yesterday, team Sky worked together all the way through and the win over all was well deserved.

Love the Tour de France, I am an avid follower of the Tour year in, year out. We were in Paris once for the final and what a buzz that was
I was thrilled to see Bradley Wiggins win for Britian, watching history in the making is always soooooo exciting
