GAFFE-PRONE Oliver Letwin was ridiculed yesterday - after allegedly claiming the Tory-led Coalition has solved the country's problems. The Cabinet Office minister is said to have told Conservative MPs the economic, health and education reforms were going so well they could put their feet up in two years' time.
It is the second major blunder by Mr Letwin in less than a week - after reportedly saying at the weekend that he did not want to see more "poor families" taking overseas holidays.
Echoes of our very own Sues words yesterday on another thread.
According to one MP, Mr Letwin said: "If this goes well we'll have nothing to legislate on in two years' time." The Old Etonian's boast came just hours after Health Secretary Andrew Lansley was forced to reveal he was putting the brakes on botched NHS reforms
and just days ago Michael Gove had to announce a partial U-turn on the scrapping of Educational Maintenance Allowance.

Dear ol Oliver has been around for many a year and he has been gaffing for all that time. There is something rather engaging about him though, his honesty is refreshing. At one time he was destined for the dizzy heights but a gaff mid election in years gone by saw him airbrushed out of the entire campaign...and he never quite recovered. Mr Cameron restored some faith in him but it hasnt been rewarded. But then again arent we all tired of the whole kit and caboodle of government politicians, all saying the same thing.
The most Tory of Tories at the moment is copper knobbed Danny Alexander of the Libdems...the metronome and the talking clock are positively death defying in their excitement next to him.

Every goverment down the years has had a gaffe man or woman to take the heat off the party leader , for instance we are talking about him in stead of the mess the conlibs are making of our country .
