  Shortly before and during the period when the entry checks to the UK were relaxed, several armed groups who Britain was at that time fighting, and to an extent still is, announced they would launch attacks in the West.
  
  These statements were reported on mainstream news channels at the time, so must have been known to the security chiefs in Britain and to the competent ministries.
  
  Britain was involved in armed conflict in various areas, there was every reason to assume that our security at home was at higher risk of retaliation.
  
  As far as I am concerned, the Prime Minister and other cabinet ministers have acted in a treacherous way by not ordering increased security at our borders, but instead allowing the exact opposite to take place.
  
  Adding to that, a week ago it was announced that, since 3 October, not one RN warship is at high readiness in our waters.
