  Marek - I watched that interview too is this is a classic example of you completely misrepesenting what was said.
  
  Yes, Liam did say the Met Office could be privatised. You are jumping to the conclusion that it would be sold to foreigners, your assumption only. He also said that all aspect of the MoD operations should be examined and said that 25% savings in costs could be achieved. He did not say there would be 22,000 redundancies, it was the interviewer who said that and Liam corrected him. The fact is that the costs savings need not all be from job losses, as Liam said.
  
  A freeze on recruitment should be brought in immediately (except for the Forces themselves, that is) that will minimise any job losses.
  
  Thanks to Labour's incompetence there must be big savings made in public spending whoever wins the election.
  
  Really, Marek, you damage your own credability by making such silly and inaccurate statements.
