  I am currently having the same problem. i had a renewal and a call - as the quote was less than last year I told the caller to renew it. A week later I got a letter saying I hadnt renewed so rang up to be told they hadn't renewed me but confirmed the price telling me they had to give me two weeks grace so i took the opportunity to check with my local agent who wanted £100 more so I went back and said I acceot the renewal to be told that they couldnt renew at the weekend as they had to refer to the broker and would ring me on monday - did they heck!
  
  So now I would like to know who offers the best deal before I ring the 0845 number and hang on for anothe r30mins!!
  I have been told the dog is good for quotes and bad for paying out....
