After blowing last years massive lead in the opinion polls and failing to win the election against a very unpopular government that have been in for 13 years and governed over the recession. the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, the MPs expenses sleeze etc etc , should David Cameron now do the decent thing and resign?

good point mrp, the boy who would be king does not seem to be igniting the populce.
More importantly, should Andy Hessenthaler turn down the inevitable job offer from Gillingham FC?

Sid the answer to your question is yes, Andy should turn it down. A good number of posters on here though might ask who's David Cameron Oops I meant Andy Hessenthaler.
Seriously on the original post no I do not think DC should resign, well certainly not while there is still a chance of forming a Government, I think it would also be wrong Nationally to have both major parties electing new Leaders and hey I know nothing about politics and I have no party allegiance.

Most of this is a mystery to me exceot the bit about Cameron.
The answer is simply no...
He achieved the biggest seat gain of any Conservative leader for 80- years and a bigger share of the vote than was obtained by Blair in 2005 when he got a majority of 60+..
The fact that DC narrowly fell short of an overall majority is clearly more down to the pro-Labour structure of the electoral system. This is one reason why reform is needed (but not PR...)
There will be another election within a year.

Good question Sid, I honestly don't think he will apply and they will look elsewhere. The fans on the Gills forum are totally against taking another manager from non league after the failure of Stimson. Hopefully the Hess Express will still be rolling next season.
