Too real for me!
- 21 December 2010 14:2585848Is it just me? After spending 7 hours in A&E and 9 days in hospital last month the last thing I want to watch is hospital reality programmes! I just sat down with some lunch and thought I would turn on the TV; quickly skipping past the usual chat shows, I checked to see what else was on and found no less than 4 hospital reality programmes. I just wondered who watches them? I can't - too many reminders, too squeamish and I know I'd be bawling my eyes out in no time!
- 21 December 2010 14:2685850I can't even stand Casualty and Holby, although I know others who are glued to them. You are right - anyone who has spent time in one - professionally or as a guest - will probably avoid these progs like the plague. So to speak.

Actually, the wife used to watch those hospital films, but at the moment, everytime I pass through the living room, there`s one of those cheap, third rate, four a penny Hollywood Christmas films on. Rubbish, no other word for it. if you switch channels and catch one there is usually someone wired up to the mains with a drip coming out of them.
not my idea of fun, too much of that in real life. - 22 December 2010 07:4986008We don't watch them normally, but if we do, they seem to be about the staffs personal problems and not so much blood and gore operations.
Jean was in hospital for most of 2004 (late July she was allowed home permanently) so she's not a fan of them at all. In fact it has put her (almost, but not quite) off of having a transplant, which would mean another stay in hospital of course.
Talking of hospitals, how is Colette ? Will she be home for Christmas Barry ? I do hope so.

I think some of it is MORE THAN REALISTIC and at times almost laughable ! They must enjoy spreading the blood and gore. I can watch most things....---------------------------------------------------
