Simon I wont answer your last line9maybe alexander will) lol

I think there needs to be some clarity here,

Lets take the name out of the person tendering and look at how this silly situation came about,,,,,,,,

Now im certain if it came to light that say one of the controversial cllrs(Gordon cowan)had influenced cllrs. voted, then put in a tender, he would(rightly)have been slaughtered locally and in the local media.

    instead it was another Cllr.
now, the monitoring officer(remember he has no legal qualification) even stated it would have been advisable for the declaration to have gone in earlier, and the comment to the press that she forgot??? was never refuted, and doesn't hold water.

Now you cannot just open toilets, so taking this tender away and looking at volunteers
it needs to be well orgsnised like john said. it would be wrong to do it badly and it all fall apart.

I disagree with john that just because hes leaving as a Cllr that he voted against labour, he should have a mind of his own and remember who voted him in to stand in the first place.
it was because of the free vote that he was able to vote the way he did.

now, I understand someone from the town council went to the District to see if the district would run the toilets in shiort term
but if this was correct it was all done behind closed doors, and those able to push this along were not even aware of these actions, so no wonder it failed.

The clerk obviously hasn't come out of this well either,
