I am not in the "know" either, but I was at the meeting. It is obvious that this is a political carve up of Sue Jones. Nothing more, nothing less.
The weak, pathetic sheep (as I call them) following unquestioningly behind Gordon - and the Tory/Independents putting their boot in to ensure that a Labour Cllr does not get the concession even though her organisation was the only bit left on the table.
This is politics at its worst.
The saddest thing here is that the will of the people was ignored in favour of a political manoeuvre that denied the town of a much needed facility. The fundamentally flawed amendment to the stated 3 resolutions to be chosen from, means in point fact that the toilets stay closed. It shows that these Cllrs are not capable of working for their community, doing good in their community or doing what is right for their community. All they are interested in is political point scoring and doing down a hard working person in her quest to do all of those things.
So, what may I ask happens when the new bids are sought and Pebbles is the best bid, or the only bid? By the rationale presented before us, the toilets may never open unless they are directly dealt with by a Council.
Oh how they must be loving this in Whitfield with the heat turned away from them and on to DTC! This is proved by the impotent posturing by the Chairman.
If there is a God, please deliver us from these awful people.
