    It's an odd view of Democracy that, though one widely held. It seems that everything and everyone BUT the Councillors lost out.
    I'd rather Democracy was the way of realising the Public will, not some piddling contest.

    The whole EGM seems to have been more concerned in saving face for the few and making a show of explaining to the dullard locals that such is Local Democracy.

    It was plain that the clear will of the people of the town was to have these facilities open, yet the every effort of the representatives was concentrated on issues on the dais;the usual internecine guff.

    All in all, a very poor show.
