To be fair to Southeastern, generally the journey is acceptable - the bus leaves on time, the drivers tend to stick to the same route, the morning buses get to Folkestone with ample time to catch the connecting service, the majority of which are now running to time. the return journey works equally ok - it is weeks since a train was late enough to claim "delay repay" and other than some minor inconveniences due to the TAP the bus is ok, even if they are a little worse for wear.
There is little in the way of practical or sensible alternatives or options so we have all gritted our teeth, put on our stiff upper lip and got on with it - doesnt mean we like it, accept it or are happy with it.
As for the engineers I hear on the QT that they are examining the costs and time for two options - repair or complete rebuild. Our local MPs are making noises around preferring the former whereas every rail user I talk to wants the latter even though it will mean we are inconvenienced for longer.
