The action taken by the local Labour Councillors - as I've said on another thread, was totally unnecessary, there was no picket line to cross in the afternoon, no solidarity to be overly concerned with and they completely abdicated their rsponsibility as elected representatives.
Why should the Council change the date of its meeting to fit in with the whim of Labour Councillors ?
It was indeed an odd meeting; it went very smoothly, no snide or silly comments made, but they (Labour Councillors) missed a very important presentation on the development of Calais Port and its relationship with the Port of Dover (described on another thread) as well the latest update on the DTIZ.
They let down those who voted for them, for an outdated ideal and an unnecessary strike.
