Well this nearly cheered us up. The scheduled arrival of the ‘QUEEN VICTORIA’. No, not the pub all the way from Eastenders but the cruise liner.
Schedule said it was arriving Dover yesterday evening (Tuesday). All agog I waited, camera at the ready. This is a cruise liner of ‘traditional’ shape (pointy front and nothing that resembles a tower block at the back - note the nautical terms I have honed over the years). This ‘was’ -more accurately ‘could’ - have been a first for Dover Port.

Alas not to be. Out there in the channel it turned about when it got to glimpse our white cliffs, didn’t like the look of us, gave a hoot, and was gone back to whence it came. What a pity.
