Unfortunately up here on the ninth floor we only get blasted pigeons, seagulls and the occasional magpie. I was surprised to hear on Radio 4 yesterday afternoon that the Herring Gull is very near to going on the endangered species list. There has been a dramatic decline in their numbers over the lat 10 years.
I guessed that the title would refer to the feathered kind. We were lucky enough, when I worked in Canterbury, to have a pair of long tailed tits in the garden. Very pretty birds.
