I have said this before too,it is time lorry,s moved away from the port of Calais or even France,OK it might take longer to get across to the UK or the EU but it will safer for the drivers and also stop most of the young men jumping in the back of lorrys to get over to main land UK ,I think they need to close off part of a port other then Calais where it will be easy to police and keep them off the back of lorry,s will also save companys and drivers from the big finds they are paying out.or not use France at all.

That'd do wonders for Dover's economy

Why not use Dunkirk more ? I do, and I find it just as easy to use as Calais. A more sensible move would be to transport all the jungle residents to a purpose built secure (for their own safety) refugee camp as far away from the channel coast and routes used by hgvs as possible. This might deter some, and would make the journey more difficult for the more persistant offenders. Keep returning any absconders and they might actually get fed up with it. I am not advocating concentration camps, before anyone mentions any similarities, but humanitarian refugee camps with sanitary arrangements and so forth. Probably wouldn't cost too much to set up and run, you can't put a price on traveller's safety.

The lorrys do nothing for the Dover Economy but it would the D,H,B, but soming must be done ,it would do nothing for the Dover Economy if the camp is moved over to Dover it would make it lower more public would not use the town and more would move away or shop in other towns like they are already doing.

The people smugglers and the would be migrants would simply set up shop at whichever port truckers changed to - too lucrative a business to just let go. Alternative accommodation has been offered to residents but was declined as they would have to provide id. Many have been moved to centres Inland but invariably find themselves back at a port.

I do not agree pick a port and then put in place away that only the H,G.V. can get there +it has its own police force.

Firstly the port would need to be able to take ferries the size of the two "spirit" ones and have spare capacity for the huge amount of traffic that presently goes via Dover/Calais, all highly unlikely. As for police even the French CRS cannot control the violence in Calais.
