  All of our dogs have had the little b*ggers - I was always told to drown them in brandy or whiskey and then squeeze with a pair of tweezers and they should pop out whole. (I mean drown the tick not the dog). I suppose they die happy with a bit of blended inside them. You don't really notice them until they've had a feed and have a full belly and that's when you can have trouble. I was also told that they like sheep so keeping away from sheep should help in that respect. Fingers crossed Kipper doesn't get any this year!
