    A danger, so I have heard, of outdoor freshwater leisure pursuits. Swimming with an open wound (small cuts or grazes will do) swallowing the water etc.
    It comes from rat-pee [no, not that stuff they charge £3 a pint for. Real rat-pee] and can have devastating consequences.
    Oh! Now that I have read Howard's link. Ticks too can carry this to the blood stream. Dashed Global Warming!!!?

    Best, perhaps, to up the intake of Garlic. Always good against blood suckers?
