This year's flu jab
- 4 October 2018 13:28349821Just rang up my surgery and told that the earliest they can see me is in a months time as they are only doing them on a Saturday morning. Usually I get an appointment within two days.
- 5 October 2018 17:54349875fyi - it's also possible to get them from Tesco (Whitfield) and other pharmacies - you can probably get an appointment within a few days if needed.

5 October 2018 19:34349878I was offered a flu jab by my surgery, when I picked up my prescription last week, and booked it for 09.30 today.
My wife and I went in at 09.20 and were both given the jab and left the surgery within a couple of minutes; usually they are only booked for Saturdays but this year there was a choice of either Friday or Saturday.
Result!

That is my normal experience but without your Mrs I hasten to add. Noticed on the last couple of times I have gone in to hand in or collect a prescription that there is a queue for the receptionist and most of the chairs are taken so the surgery has either taken on a lot of new patients or the GPs have cut their hours back. - 6 October 2018 12:14349895St James surgery is only doing Saturday mornings for the jab and their waiting lists are 6 weeks. Boots advertise a free NHS flu jab for those eligible so I went on their website and ploughed through a questionnaire until they asked for my "advantage card number", as I don't have any store cards they cancelled my appointment.

6 October 2018 13:04349897Therefore it is only free if you are a regular customer so a bit of a cheeky way to get to try and get new information, considering I usually only use the shop to buy Boots Christmas vouchers I will not bother.-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't know how many treatment rooms they had going but I was out of the door within 15 minutes, as it takes about 3 weeks to kick in I hope there is not a sudden epidemic.
