As from April 2015 you can claim a ex allowance if your wife income of pension is less than yours.
I did not know this myself till it was pointed out by my pals from Spain when they were over here.
She done it for me on the lap top it only took a few mins/but it means now my own code has been change so that I get more on my allowance making me better off by over £100 per year.
You can find out more or even do it by logging into www.gov.uk /tax-codes.
Hope this puts a few more bob in your pocket like it did me. Thank you.
