    It's not just broken glass one should worry about in the Dour, and there is enough of that, but we regularly find hypodermic syringes during the monthly clean ups.

    They could be washing in from anywhere along the length - who knows? If anyone gets one of those embedded in their foot they may suffer a lot worse than just a cut - tetanus, Weils Disease, drugs - who knows. I wouldn't go in in anything less than rubber soled heavy duty waders.
