Chris Simmons
I would like to invite you all, guests and any other interested parties to a group show by Postgraduate Architecture students from Canterbury School of Architecture called "This is England". My colleagues and I will be presenting a series of design propositions that explore the cultural, historic and urban contexts of the Port of Dover. The Show launches Friday 6th May 4PM-7PM, and is open Saturday 7th May 10AM - 6PM and Sunday 8th May 10AM-6PM and is located in the Old Sorting Office, Maison Dieu Road, Dover CT16 1RE
I have personally been investigating the ongoing case for the Peoples Port and its effects on Localism in the town. I will be presenting a series on 99 Proposals for Dover formulated from Public Opinions of the Dover Public along with my own +1 Proposal for a Hybridised Town and Port.

That's interesting, Chris.
Will you also be mentining the Bronze Age boat, and the fact that Dover is Britain's oldest port? The boat dates to 1550 BC, and is the oldest sea-faring vessel in the world!
And remember that the name Dover is Celtic, from Dubra, meaning: The Waters!
Our river Dour has its name from the same word.

Forgive me being pedantic Chris, but if you mean the former Post Office in Charlton Green (opposite Morrisons), the post code is CT16 1AA.
I know the post code won't be important to local people as they know where it is, but people from outside of Dover may use their satnavs to find it. There again of course, it may not be the same place.
Looking on the map above though, it is - I have my office there, on the curve of the building, on the first floor.
Will you be using the DAD's (Dover Arts Development) area - I see you have their web address ?
Good Luck
Roger

Interesting error, CT16 1RE is the former P.O. Social Club and sorting office (now demolished) further along the road!

Actually, thinking about it both Chris and Roger could be right. When the sorting office closed in Maison Dieu Road, the postcode may have been transferred to Charlton Green while CG still retained it's "prestige" code of 1AA.
When the Dover Express was in Castle Street it had CT16 1PR as it's code. When it moved to the High Street it retained it even though it was now deep in CT17 territory.
