cannot disagree with any of the foregoing, the worst is the breakneck pavement cycling.
people aged 60 and over are the worst culprits and a blind eye is deliberately turned.

Picking up on your "Its war dead honoured".
Has nothing been done to replace the Miners statue on the seafront?
I was told that a plaque was being put there "The Chase" I believe.
"My New Year's Resolution, is to try and emulate Marek's level of chilled out, thoughtfulness and humour towards other forumites and not lose my decorum"
Im not sure Gary re a replacement for the statue ,I do hope someone can answer your question the miners statue looks so much more at "home" in its new position .
But you have prompted me to add further items

Public loos (where will 16,000 people on the seafront for the evening go?

)
A decent entertainment venue where you might see well known acts (like The Marlowe or Gulbenkian, Astor Theatre even)
A traffic management system that doesn't have docks traffic cutting off the town from the seafront (this was one of the alternative options put out for public consultation in 1979, skirting the town from the A20 and joining up with a dual carriageway A2 at the top of Lydden Hill - maybe even add in a junction to connect with the top of Coombe Valley Road and develop that as an industrial estate with good traffic links)

What is happening with the old Odeon/Images site-that could be made into a great venue again.

Now that DTIZ has been given planning permission, Wetherspoons are working up their plan for that site Richard, so it shouldn't be too long before we have something to look at.
