I would like to see a Rail Training Academy set up at Snowdown, giving local youth, high quality, on- site rail training, providing apprenticeships & employment, within in the Rail Industry.

I am proud to say that along with a very good friend of mine, local to Aylesham and others, nearly 200 local youth's, have been trained and are now employed in the Rail Industry, changing their lives and the lives of the community that they live in.

It has been my choice to work with everyone and anyone who is willing to help me with this scheme.

For me to help these youth's get into employment, I had to put my personal and political issues, to one side and if you think that that was easy for me, then you truly do not know me.

The main reason our miners fought so hard over the years was to keep our pits open and secure a future for our next generation.

We fought as hard as we could to keep out mines open but in the end we lost and now our pits are shut and we cannot change that.

However, if WE don't continue to try and secure the future for our communities today, our communities will continue to suffer and everything will be lost forever.

So if I have to work with someone who wants to help me, to help our communities and they happen to be a tory, then if it helps to secure our future, I will work with them.

The ironic thing about all of this, is that when I put my family or political hat on, I hate the tories just as much as you, probably more.

I got a full time job before I left school and I was never out of work until I became my disabled wife's carer.
I have paid my dues and so has my wife.
We would both give anything to be able to boast " I work for a living" like you keep posting on here, so back off, because YOU do not pay for our benefits, I more than covered that.

As for politics and the strike, I am a member of the "Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign", who will eventually get the full true story about the strike and put the record straight and I will continue to defend and support our miners, here in Kent and elsewhere.

Many "Armchair Warriors" have been firing arrows in my back for a long time now, when all I ever wanted was a better life for our communities but I am beginning to wonder why I bother.
