It has proved rather pointless so far, spending so much time and money trying to stop the migrants entering the U.K. Perhaps a more beneficial system would be to employ them to assist the economy whilst their asylum applications are being processed.

They could be used in many areas, working on the land for instance, where there is a chronic shortage of workers. I’m sure you could suggest many other areas that they could be employed in.

This would also help them to feel more useful whilst helping them to forget their past ‘traumas’ and at the same time earn their place in the U.K. The chance for temporary work would go some way to alleviate their boredom, rather than them having an aimless existence at the taxpayers expense.

The cash that we are currently throwing at the problem could easily be used to provide temporary accommodation, (chalets, tents, caravans etc), in the areas where they would be working.

If a system like this was mandatory and quickly up and running, there could be a drop in the numbers trying to enter the U.K. illegally.

It could be a positive step in attempting to tackle the problems that are currently being experienced rather than letting the impasse continue.
