The Winter Gardens

  We went to see a show last night at the Winter Gardens. I've never been there before.
  
  The building stunk of mildew and the seats rock back and forth all the time as they appear to be temporary seats.
  
  The place looked a bit tired and in need of some TLC.
  
  Does the building still belong to the council? I also looked at the list of shows on and their seems to be not many "stars" appearing there. I'm sure it used to be a regular haunt of the current crop of musicians and comedians.

  Yes it is owned by Thanet District Council but run by Thanet Leisure Force who run Dover's Town Hall (and shortly the Leisure centre)....

  We love going to the winter gardens,true it needs a make over and you can find a piller blocking you view at times,we have seen some of the all times great there over the years,and hope to go again.

  We went there a couple of years ago. I was amazed at the number (and density) of the cobwebs in the corridors!

  That great Mr Nunn it goes with the very old building,it all adds up to having a good time out.
