The Victorians

I have a new book out, 'The Victorians'. It is an album of Victorian photographs featuring 40 original prints. Available from: http://www.lulu.com/product/lulustudio-photo-book/the-victorians/15325295 special launch price £8.99.
How it came about: I love all things Victorian and collect albums, mourning jewellery and taxidermy and am also a Victorian style actress/model. Many of the original photos in my collection were beautiful but faded. Recently I began the arduous task of scanning and restoring some of them to present in a modern day Victorian style album and the rest is well, history!

The Old Boland family were very victorian in spirit...like that one of you with the parasol. The pictures on the wall had all the brown tinge of time on them. I remember them vaguely as I do hearing the grand father clock forever pounding out the clanking tick of old man time.

Actually in 1862 the Prince of Wales, son of Queen Victoria (later to become King Edward VII) received his first tattoo, a Jerusalem cross. It wasn't just the men though, Victorian society women collected tattoos including Winston Churchill's mother, who wore a serpent on her wrist (I have one on my upper left arm.) Maud Wagner was the first known woman tattooist. In 1904 she traded a date with her tattooist husband-to-be for an apprenticeship! - 18 April 2011 21:49102393Well i would never have known Victorian women had tattoos. Ellen Graves (nee Hackford) and her husband Stephen Graves c.1865-75 ?? Lincolnshire.
He was a strict tee-totaller, and one of the founders of a Wesleyan Chapel in Grimsby.
My mother was very fond of both of them.
