Dog faeces carry germs and parasites, a lot of them harmful to humans (especially children). Domestic cats will hunt and kill small animals for food because that is their instinct. People love their pets and there would be uproar if you suggested putting them down because they are destructive, consider the fuss made by dog lovers whenever a dog has attacked a human and the animal is ordered destroyed.
We live in a world alongside many species of animal, some we eat, some we admire and some we demonise, and yet they all have lives. Of them all man is the most organised in it's laziness. We grow crops because it is easier than foraging for food and it has allowed us to progress by giving us the time to develop, to think and to explore. While doing so the animals that share the planet keep it habitable in more ways than we realise. Bees pollinate our crops, grazing animals keep the soil fertile, carnivorous animals dispose of the sick, dying and dead while a multitude of insects break down the waste and restore it to fertility.
As eating is a basic survival instinct for all life so to is going for the easiest food source. For man it is farming crops, which in turn provides accessible fields for rabbits, field mice and other small mammals to graze on. This provides a rich food source for foxes, among other species to hunt, unless there is an easier source like prepared scraps left in bins and thin black sacks.
It is a finite world and every species finds its survival niche except man, who strives to have it all without giving back. Every other species prepares for winter, plants in deserts store for drought and expectant females fatten up for the rigours of bearing young. Humankind prefers to assume that 4 billion years of evolution on a finite planet has created an inexhaustible supply. Fossil fuels laid down over millions of years are a finite resource just as food is in areas of extreme weather. Animal species adapt and change to make the best of the resources at hand, only man thinks he force the planet to adapt to him.
Man might want to kill and consume the opposition but if he keeps on doing so one day there will be nothing left to nurture him either.
