  In my pointless opinion there is a fundamental difference between belief in the existence of aliens and that of God. Aliens are scientifically plausible, indeed statistically highly probable. They would be physical entities evolving in bio-systems that obey physical laws that we can understand. God, on the other hand, is inherently irrational, immeasurable and unscientific.
  
  Without evidence, although it is ultimately impossible to confirm or deny the existence of either, belief in the reality of one or the other requires very different fundamental perception of the universe. However, neither are mutually exclusive.
