    I agree - symbols of faith are as significant but not as important as faith itself as they offer comfort and direction. Faith and deity are such huge matters that we need symbols we can understand so that we can properly use our faith and don't go bonkers trying to assimilate it!! (Although I really like the idea of bi-polaroidism!!!)
