It was interesting to watch the broadcast last nite Dc saying the cons should be trusted and not the libs or lab . I wonder what the lib part of the coalition thinks about this .

Strange that the Tories felt it necessary to distance themselves from their bedfellows.

maybe the brokeback coalition has had a tiff?
alternatively the two parties have decided that they fight council elections seperately, the yellows nomally do better at such things than the other parties.

quite honestly lib dems been given the freedom to campaign on the A.V. to please them, the lib dems don't believe in AV it's a watered down option to what they want
the tories are 100% against A.V.
I think the tories are just trying to keep the lib dems happy by pretending A.V.
when in fact it wasn't, why have a 3rd rate option?
with elections looming tories have to now have that distance

the established parties are defending their territory here, cannot blame them for that.
a feather in the cap of red hot ed to back the a.v. campaign.
will be interesting to see how the general public respond.

Keith there is no Conservative 'pretending AV' as you put it.
The Conservatives only promised a referendum in the coalition agreement they did not promise to support AV.
The official position of the Conservative Party is to support the present system and to campaign against AV. DC made a speech against AV last week.
AV is an appaling system. It offers more say to the fruit cakes and extremists by allowing their votes to count more than those who support serious legitimate parties.

And the labour party are divided.
I'm an optimist. But I'm an optimist who takes my raincoat - Harold Wilson
Is any party in power really going to change the system which got them elected ?
