  Thank you Jeanne - I've been called worse than just a fish, trust me!! So I am happy! That was a lovely thought Jeanne and appreciated (the sky, not the mackerel!!!) and I will settle down to paint it this weekend, with pleasure. So I shall now skate off to speak with John Dory, tuna my guitar and serenade Salmon Rushdie with a song I haddock in mind.

  Does anyone remember the expression "fishmongers wife". I never understood why it was considered insulting.

  I see they list Grimsby as a place for fish-wives !! My mother wasn't like that of course, she was a lady ..
  But the ladies who filleted and gutted the fish were very hard workers... and brought up families too...
