15:2671142I`ve noticed the above have been advertising for new member`s in recent weeks. Though I`ve never really taken much notice of it over the years, is it for people with bank wads, or is it open to the general public, and at what cost? I never see anyone drinking outside.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

Costs about £40 a quarter. Nice pint, I really should go there rather more than I do.

15:3871151Thanks Barry, I thought it would be more than that. I did see a number of smartly dressed gentlemen coming from that direction about 13.00 ish today, with blazer`s and badges on their pocket`s, giving them a nautical look.
Tell them that I came, and no one answered.

16:2671168Is a nice venue for events, the WHPS had their 10th anniversary there a few months back and were looked after well and the doors opening into the seafront worked well

Been nice knowing you :)

06:3471395Jean and I are members of the RCPYC too.
It's a lovely venue, lovely people too and they have events throughout the year - not all to do with sailing.
You don't have to have any kind of yacht, boat or dingy, to enjoy membership and yes Howard, it does work out better the more often you enjoy the facilities there.
It's also not a snobby place and politics doesn't play a part at all, in fact I found out recently that the Vice Commodore is a senior person in Shepway's Labour party - a really nice chap.
If you can afford the membership, I'd recommend joining.
