i have many memories of my sister and i being taken to see a single uncle who "lodged" with a lady in south london when young.
they had an "understanding" i was told!!
we were treated to endless tales from the emerald isle then the "gift" was brought out.
when i was 8 i was presented and made to wear a bright red and yellow striped cardigan, i looked like a ventriloquist's dummy.
