    Actually Vic. I agree with your posting.

    All of the costs that are too high are in the private sector, but every one needs to make a profit - profit is not a dirty word but the driver for most if not all companies, it's when that profit becomes greed; the the landlords are the worst - high rents and many in a very poor state, but high rents are driven by supply and demand (in most cases). We have some in my ward I'm sure - I bet there are a number of cases of over-crowding too.

    The cost of renting is about the same (or slightly more) than a mortgage, it's getting the deposit that's the problem.
