  That kind of flip innuendo (herr pope........all kids his age joined the Hitler Youth, it was mandatory. The fact is he went AWOL when things became obvious) is unnecessary and perpetuates the casual hatred. No one, no one at all, in their right minds, would condone the abuse. The important thing is that it is now being actioned, has been acknowledged, and there are opportunities to move on. Those adults who were abused kids need that opportunity - look at them, how sad they are. They deserve better than having their agony perpetuated and stoked by tabloid hysteria.
