Commonsense rules for using Facebook:
1. Don't befriend anyone not personally known to you.
2. Don't let your friends tag you in photographs.
3. Set your security to 'friends only' to see your posts, unless you want to run into Bob's troubles.
4. Never befriend a journalist unless he/she is a genuine friend.
5. Never befriend a news organisation.
6. Never post while Bacchus is in control of your thinking.

i break most of those mainly because i have never bothered to find out how it works properly.
friend requests i usually refuse because i don't know them, i think people send out requests to strangers just so that they have a long list of friends.
It could just mean people find you interesting, Howard........

wish that was the case, usually people with no profile so i could not accept anyway.

I have two facebook profiles, one is a private one for close friends and family and the other is for my photography/books/media. That one is accessible to anyone but it doesn't include any of my personal details. Contact has to be made through a post on that page or via e mail through my website. I have had a couple of stalkers but they were quickly blocked. I also never use my correct date of birth or my home address to register on there or anywhere that I think may be unsafe.
