  Although in no position to state whether he is innocent or not in regards to the allegations against him, I find it hard to believe he would have been extradited to America if he had not done anything wrong concerning laws on supplying arms or parts thereof to Iran.
  
  When an arms embargo is in place against a country, there's a good reason to be very careful what one exports to that country.

  Like Alexander, I have no idea whether he is guilty or innocent of this charge, but he is certainly no danger to the public, nor can he go anywhere.

  apparently the profit for him on the sale was a few hundred pounds, i find it difficult to believe that someone very well off and reired would risk his libertty for such a triling amount.

  The devil will be in the detail. Just how driven were the agents who put the deal together? That and the irresistible temptation of low-hanging fruit.
  Who could blame the man for resisting extradition, (probably somebody). The possible maximum sentence would bring tears to the eyes of many too? Add to this the awkwardness of pre-arranging for him to serve his sentence over here before his case was heard.
  Perhaps he would have been better off dealing with e-mail offers from Nigeria?
