    Oul super talker Farage ( why use one word when forty will do! ) was on TV last night rubbishing this new move by Cameron re the European Union. See my earlier post (309). Although Cameron was trying to appease his backbenchers by offering a referendum in the nevernever future, all this prior to the Tory Party Conference which can be notorious for corridor plottings and cannibalistic blood letting, he was also trying to scupper the UKIP influence by this referendum offer.

    It seems another leading Tory has absconded over to UKIP in the past week or two so Cameron is on his metal. Throw a couple of tasty bones to the carniverous dogs of war on his own benches and the UKIP vote will be nullified. So the theory goes.
