I did join the other forum just to give some alternative views, and even up the debate was very one sided are far from factual, having got a warning for daring to give an alternative view, i felt it in the best interest to not post any more on there.
I hadnt looked in for some time, but today i looked and what i do see?
2 people have left the locals after a bun fight,
our roger in the middle after giving his view.
this is the so called friendly forum
give me doverforum any day

Stirring again Keith, how sad, especially as this place has had its problems in the past

keith is right the nasty personal attacks on roger are a summation what goes on there and why they have so few posting there.
sad too to see current members here making snide comments there.

Howard, I like both forums as they are both different and fail to see why they can not get on with each other like the proper grown-ups some of us pretend to be.

I must admit I was very surprised at some of the comments aimed at me, especially as I was only trying to be helpful. I was also very comforted at the support of some of the members there, including Ross and Jan, who post of here and Andy Cooper, who has always, to my mind, been a very fair man.
I haven't posted on there for a couple of days as I am letting things settle down first; no one wants to be dumped on for no apparant reason (no apparant reason to me that is).
When I started to post on there recently, it started off very well, but someone calling himself "Fiat Lux", made some very accusatory postings which were totally unwarranted.
Sad really; as Jan has said, the two Forums should be able to exist quite happily, if people want to post on both, it shouldn't be a problem.

Thank you Roger, a concise and accurate and also thought provoking reply, some of those comments were quite uncalled for, sadly I doubt it will change the entrenched opinions of some on here.

I agree entirely with Jan and Roger. Both forums can run happily without any nastiness. It's when people like Keith (sorry Keith) make comments like this thread that the nastiness starts because tit for tat comments take over.
There really is no need for either forum to comment on the other and I'm sure PaulB would agree with me. In this day and age there is enough bad feeling in the world without creating more.
Personally I only belong to doverforum and am happy here, but if others want the other one as well it is their decision - live and let live. If you don't like one or the other then don't visit it - shimples!

All Forums have their moments
- et tu brute...
This one has, Dover Locals has and both will so again, however I feel that their is and audience and a membership for both and they do have different outlooks.
PS - thanks Roger

Well said Ross.
I notice PaulB hasn't commented which confirms what I thought.

I disagree Keith it was not just a comment it was you trying to stir up trouble between the two forums which was exactly the impression you gave when you first joined the other one.

Then why do you keep harping on about it Keith? This whole thread is just an attempt to discredit the other forum - playground stuff.
