if what kentonline has printed is true, and the so called lorry park is from the eastern docks to samphire hoe.that would efectifly cut aycliffe of compleatly from the out side world.and futher more if everything has to use millatry hill that would a hell of a strain on a "c" road which is unsutable for large viecles.apart from that its narrow windey full of pot holes and dangoures.

Another issue addressed without the need for privatisation, perhaps without the distraction of the quest for privatisation the extra parking would already have been in place now?

looking at the wording and the picture it seems that they are going to use the a20 from the docks to samphire hoe east bound.well thats my understanding anyway.

From my understanding Brian the lorries will all be contained in the Eastern Dock by removing unused buildings.

Yes looks like DHB Suddenly want to help to resolve the problem.
but hey let's do what we can
it does state it will be within the eastern docks.
ALL POSTS ARE MY OWN PERSONAL VIEWS
The sight of lorries queuing for miles through Dover could soon be a thing of the past.
More than £6 million is to be spent on a 'mini Operation Stack' - a holding area for 220 lorries at the Port of Dover.
Queued bumper to bumper, the trucks would stretch for nearly three miles - roughly the distance between the entrance to the docks and Samphire Hoe along the A20.
Mike Krayenbrink, director of port development at Dover Harbour Board, said: "It certainly won't resolve the need for Operation Stack if, as it were, France was closed, but it should delay the point at which there is congestion on the main approach roads into the town.
"The ferry terminal is effectively a processing system, so if you allow traffic to move through more easily, you can increase the total capacity of the port as a whole. It will allow us to accept more traffic at busy times - potentially an extra 200,000 lorries every year."
Extensive changes to the layout of the port will be needed to accommodate the new holding area.
The ground floor of the current passenger building will be turned into a search area for the UK Border Agency, as well as facilities for foot passengers.
The travel centre, nearby buildings and an outbound vehicle ramp will be removed before construction can start on the new holding area and outbound traffic routes.
Work is due to finish in late 2013 or early 2014.
Mr Krayenbrink said the work would be carried out in stages to cause as little disruption as possible, particularly during the Olympic Games next year, when large numbers of people are expected to travel through the port from continental Europe.

Can we have Townwall Street back then, please?
And so with the pressure off DHB Townwall Freeway (henceforth an idyllic tree-lined urban boulevard, reimagined sympathetically by top town planners for a sophisticated evening Dovorian passegiata), does this mean the full DTIZ process can now go ahead, including the brutal mercy killing of Burlington House?
But if this new lorry park can accommodate only 220 lorries, where will all the others go? (Estimates are that the number of lorries will grow and grow every year, of course)

Excellent news. Basically DHB will be demolishing buildings and structures inside the entrance to the docks to enable more lorry parking. This will enable more lorries to be parked inside the docks before they start stretching back out along Townwall Street so it is a big plus for Dover. Am surprised they have not done this earlier instead of looking for holding areas in virgin countryside outside Dover.
A lot of work is going on resurfacing the lorry parks down near the berths at present, and ED2 is undergoing maintenance. See pics below.
