    Actually he does have a point Howard. I can give one very clear example where she did cave in to pressure and u-turned.

    Think back to the last few years of her premiership. She was in constant battles over joining EMU with her Chancellors, she and her adviser Sir Alan Waters were saying that it would be a disaster for Britain but the media, both opposition parties, TUC, CBI were all against her. Nigel Lawson went so far as to shadow the DMark in defiance of her and eventually she did cave in and allowed John Major when he was Chancellor to join. What a disaster that was - she was right all along. The one good thing to come out of that was that we learned a lesson so we did not join the Euro.
