21:4890901Quite unbelievable! I tried to see this tonight at Dover Cinema and got turned away. The cinema was packed and a dozen or so of us couldn't get in. Annoying? Yes. But how fantastic that our local cinema can attract a crowd like that when the right film comes along. I wonder if this have ever happened before here?

22:0990903Well worth booking your seat in advance, we did this for one of the Harry Potter films a few years ago.
I have given up on watching films at the cinema the sound is much too loud and I refuse to pay for something I no longer enjoy enjoy.

00:3590919I went with my wife years ago when the cinema first opened and also got turned away. I forget the name of the film and have never been back since.
My wife and her friend have booked for the matinee on Thursday afternoon and have reserved two seats at 50 pence each for the reservation fee.
I tried to book on line but they don't accept debit or credit cards so it was all done by phone.

08:0290928The loudness is the reason Jean and I don't go to Ashord any more, which is a shame because it is a great venue, good seats, food outlets outside, Tuesday nights are cheaper, great surround-sound, but so loud it's painful.

08:5890931I was beginning to think it was just me having trouble with the loud sound. I dread to think what it is doing to the younger generations hearing if they go regularly.

09:0190932I don't find the sound too loud at all. It's not as good as what I get with my surround system at home but I certainly have no problem at Ashford.
Incidentally - its not as if I am used to loud music, for instance, like youngesters are today, I hate pubs with blasting music and stay well away from clubs with the same.

10:3691126On the few occasions my father went to the cinema in the 1960s, he always took some ear-plugs or tissue ! He could not stand anything loud.

07:4891246The new cinemas have very sophisticated surround-sound speakers and systems - sometimes, depending in the film, it can shake (or feel like it is) the cinema.
Very clever and very effective - but still too loud (for us).
