    I have to disagree over VAT but cutting taxes is important but they have to be funded by public spending cuts Peter. Though chopping the 45p rate of income tax is self-funding and will help with a growth agenda.

    Gary - Yes, I agree with that comment, I have said many times that more has to be done for growth and a pre-requisite for growth must be more public spending cuts to attack the deficit more aggressively and make room to reduce that tax burden.
